Austria Ironman 70.3 St. Pölten
With 11 weeks to go, 539 athletes are registered for the inaugural event

The first Austria IRONMAN 70.3 St. Pölten is just 10 weeks away! Included in the 539 registrations are some well-known athletes who promise to make the June 2 event very competitive.
Leon Griffin, the current Men's World Duathlon Champion and top finisher at several Ironman 70.3 races in the USA last year will be one of the men's top favorites. Italian star Edith Niederfriniger, who won Ironman France in 2006 will head the women's field. Second at Ironman South Africa, Niederfriniger has proven that she is fit once again this year!
compete. Third at Ironman Florida in 2005 at just 23, Fachbach is a rising star on the Ironman scene. There will also be top athletes from Austria. The entire Ironman Austria team, including Norbert Langbrandtner, Gernot Seidl, Werner Leitner, Alexander Frühwirt and Andreas Di Bernardo will be at the start line. Already this year Seidl finished fifth at Ironman Malaysia while Frühwirt was sixth place at Ironman South Africa.
Two other top competitors from Austria include Daniel Niederreiter, 12 at the Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater last year, and Norbert Domnik, who was second at Ironman 70.3 Monaco last September.
