Latin Sports, Ironman Brazil’s Telecom organizer, announces the Ironman Brazil Telecom 70.3 Triathlon, in Brasilia, capital of the country. Athletes who complete a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run, totaling 70.3 miles, will have the unique opportunity to qualify for the 70.3 World Championship, in Florida, USA.

“We are all thrilled to be part of the Ironman 70.3 Qualifying Series since the very first year. The race venue, Brasilia, will give the athletes a unique experience to get to know one of the most interesting cities in the world, and also a perfect place for a triathlon event.” said Carlos Galvao, race director and Latin Sports CEO.

“Our experience with Ironman Brazil Telecom, in Florianopolis, makes us very confident that international athletes will have a great time, as did the athletes from over 41 countries that attended our race in southern Brazil this year.” said Toronto-based Benny Hakak, head of Latin Sports international relations.

Ironman Brazil Telecom 70.3, scheduled for August 20, 2006, is the only official qualifier in South America for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship.

Brasilia

The capital of Brazil, Brasilia is a completely planned city, famous for its urban planning and architecture. The city was built in 41 months, from 1956 to 1960, when it was officially inaugurated.

Declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and with the country’s highest Human Development Index (HDI), Brasilia is a city prepared for major events. There is a very good network of hotels of excellent quality throughout the city. These are managed by both national and international chains. Brazil’s capital is served by Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport, which currently has the third largest air traffic in the country. Most international flights require a one hour flight connection through Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo.

About Latin Sports

In the market since 2000, Latin Sports came to strengthen the sports marketing agency segment in Brazil with a modern and bold view focused on strengthening the customer's image through events with high technical level and professional organization.

One of the best examples of the company's work is in Ironman Brazil Telecom, which was a total success in its 2005 edition. The race had an exponential growth from about 250 competitors in 2000 to 1173 competitors in 2005. More than this, the race's reinforcement in the international circuit may be proved by the fact that most of the athletes come from abroad.
