Team Operation Rebound raises over $130,000

Although the final total is still being tallied, 58 members of Team Operation Rebound raised nearly $130,000 in Orlando to benefit wounded war veterans looking to continue their rehabilitation and 'get back in the game' by returning to sports competition.

The Florida Chapter of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) organized the team of triathletes with the help of race organizers at the popular Ford Ironman 70.3 Florida race at Disney World's Fort Wilderness last Sunday. Recruited from the race participants, the members of Team Operation Rebound each worked to raise a minimum of $1,500 to race with Army Major David Rozelle and retired Sergeant Rich Ingram, both military amputees who have overcome their disabilities to become excellent triathletes. About the Race

Qualifier for Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 It's possibly one of the most anxiously awaited races of the year - the Ford Ironman 70.3 Florida has to be the only race on the planet in which athlete's children are begging them to compete!

Swim: The one-loop, 1.2 mile swim course will start in waves from the beach at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground. .

Bike: The bike leaves Clementine Beach through the Pioneer Hall area via the campgrounds of the Fort Wilderness resort. The cyclists then ride past Walt Disney World Resort before hitting the back roads of Orange and Lake County.

Run course
After leaving the transition area in Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, the competitors run to Disney's Osprey Ridge Golf course. They run through the back stage of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical review, through what was once River Country before re-entering the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground for the final miles on trails.
