Orlando, FL - Just over 1900 athletes took to the water at the Walt Disney World® Resort for the fifth annual Ford Ironman 70.3 Florida. The men's field was led out of the swim by Bryan Rhodes of New Zealand followed a tight group of Kevin Lisska, Craig Alexander and TJ Tollakson just eight seconds behind him.

Dede Griesbauer was the first female pro out of the water closely followed by Leanda Cave and Nina Kraft. The lead group was only separated by four seconds and headed out onto the bike with a three minute lead on Heather Gollnick, Lisa Bentley and defending champion Katja Schumacher.
