Race Description: The Ironman Australian Triathlon is a qualifying event for both the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii each October and for the Australian Open Ultra-distance Championship. It also serves as the NSW's State Ultra Distance Championship triathlon, and as such is the grand finale of the annual competition for the Greg Welch Trophy. Winning times for Ironman Australia are fast, and those athletes who can combine speed with technical skill will excel.
The race fills quickly every year, with a maximum field of around 1,200 triathletes. It will once again attract the cream of the world's top Ironman racers, and once again provide a party atmosphere that rivals the best Ironman venues.

So you've qualified for Kona. Wouldn't it be nice to check out the racecourse say, once a week for the six months leading up to the race? No, we're not talking about moving to Kona - although that would be a nice treat - now you can do just that without leaving your own home. Ditto for checking out the Ford Ironman Arizona or Ford Ironman Coeur d'Alene course, too.
Thanks to CompuTrainer's new Interactive Bike Course Videos you can get an unbelievably realistic riding experience. Add to that the ability to monitor your heart rate, watts and pedaling efficiency and you will have no excuses once it comes to race day.
